VALERO Energy- Site Decommissioning

Upon initial investigation, our crew was notified of an existing fiber-op cable running from the office building to the warehouse at the rear of the property. Our team quickly contacted 811 (call before you dig), met onsite with local utilities and located the cable in question. Our crew marked the area and determined that the cable was considered private and was no longer in use. The utility disconnected the cable from the grid and the contractor was free to remove the cable below ground if necessary without hazard. Our crew also located all existing hydrocarbon transfer piping across the property for contractor removal. The site was secured and the contractor could move forward with the project!
